The Gild Hall Toddler Group

ABOUT US

The Gild Hall Toddler Group was founded by Maria Bennett and started in January 2004 with just 11 children and 7 mums. Maria wanted more for the children and parents than what a normal mother and toddler group offered and so the Gild Hall Toddler Group was born. Within 4 months the playgroup expanded so much that we had to do extra days in order to accommodate everyone who wanted to attend and we constantly have a waiting list of in excess of 40 children (some not even arrived in the world yet) waiting to join.

The playgroup was set up to encourage toddlers, parents and carers to interact with each other. The children learn good social skills, learn to be independent, learn through play and music and the parents make new friends within the community and can be assured of their child’s safety at all times. Our feedback from the local school nurseries says that they can tell the children that have attend our playgroup as they settle down better, are more confident and have good social skills even though they are only 3 years of age. We have all the facilities you could ask for and more.

There are plenty of good quality toys for the children to play with including a mini gym and outdoor play area, bouncy castles, trampolines, ride on toys and a specific baby play area which is solely for the little ones with their own safety mats, gate and toys.

We offer refreshments for the children and parents, playtime, craft, games, music and dance. All for the cost of £2.00 per session. All session fees are paid in advance either yearly or termly with reductions for siblings.

We actively encourage all the children and parents to take part in the charity events and give back to the community and others less fortunate.

We organise plenty of events for the children to include Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Days Out, Farm Days and Easter Bunny visit. All the children receive a birthday present, Easter egg and Christmas gift.

We also have adult theme nights and social evenings, a good way for the dads to meet people and have a good time to include Race Nights, Black Tie Ball, Quiz Night, Bingo Night, 70s/80s disco and much much more.

We run a charity Fun Day with a Disney Parade through the village in June every year with the crowning of the Rose Queen on the day.
